| Medbourne produced a stunning performance to hand champions Oundle their second defeat of the season. With Oundle wining the toss openers Wake and hard hitting Van Der Merwe negotiated left arm pace quite easily notching 50 for the opening stand never hinting of the carnage to come on a slow pitch with a poor outfield (a result of too many football games over the winter) skipper Driver bowled Van Der Merwe with a beauty and then pulled up lame, ex skipper Lilley took over, brought Sam Freer on and watched as Freer oompah loopahed his way past the majority of the Oundle top and middle order in fact had Wake not batted a longtime for his 61 the scorecard would not have looked out of place on the 02 directory (1,0,1,0,7,9,1,12,0) 14 year old Jack Kevin Rose took 2-12 from his three overs and Medbourne fielded well.
The MCC innings got off to a steady start as Punchard and Clarke nudged and slapped their way to 50 and when Burton was cooly knocking the ball around the victory looked assured, however Medbourne don't do things easy and three quick wickets saw the glassbacked Driver and slightly out of shape Lilley left to get 35 from 6 overs a few dodgy ones then a couple of drops and then the eyes were in, Lilley smacked 6, 4 and 4 and Driver 4 to lead MCC to a 6 wicket win.
